Hi guys,
I really have no idea what I’m doing with stocks, but I have about 300 ISOs that I want to exercise and try to wait for long term capital gains on. But I don’t understand if I should exercise while the market value is high, or if it even matters?
My company’s stock is up significantly these past two weeks and my lockup period ends mid-May – so my goal was to exercise my options early May and, in 2018, sell them during the trading period. But the stock is up so much this week, and I heard it might be foolish to exercise options during a potential peak and should instead wait for the price to dip a little. Is that true? Or should I just exercise now?
I have a strike price of about $2 on the 300 vested shares, and their current market value is about $45.
