There is, therefore, nothing to contradict the categorical finding of the ITAT that the document which formed the main basis for initiation of the proceedings under Section 153C of the Act does not belong to the Assessee. One of the principal conditions for attracting Section 153C of the Act is, therefore, not fulfilled in the present case.

Canberra-based digital transformation startup Intelledox has announced the closing of a $4 million round from Ellerston Ventures, which will be used to accelerate the business’s global expansion and build out its software product.
The startup’s flagship software ‘Infiniti’ helps businesses bring their stacks of paperwork online, through digitising traditional paper-based processes and automating document generation.
Infiniti also holds tools for online data capture and mobile forms, allowing businesses to complete work on the go. The software can be integrated into servers or accessed through the cloud, and is targeted at consulting and financial service firms.
Intelledox cofounder and Chief Innovation Officer, Philip Williamson said the funding serves as validation of Infiniti’s ability to help transform the traditional processes used by businesses.
“To have attracted such high-caliber investment validates our ability to transform the way companies approach process improvement. We look forward to working with our board, our passionate team, and our innovative customers and partners to drive better digital transformation results with a customer focused and data-driven technology offering,” said Williamson.
Williamson established Intelledox in 1991 beside cofounder Michelle Melbourne, with the pair building a local customer base before expanding internationally.
Currently spread across Australia, Asia, New Zealand the United States, Intelledox serves 15 million users across the globe.
Last year saw the business grow its sales across all regions by 50percent, growth which Intelledox CEO Ray Kiley accounted to the “trend” of businesses looking to digitise their paper-processes.
“In the age of the customer, organisations across the world recognize the critical need to support their digital transformation efforts with a customer-centric approach, and Intelledox is well-positioned to take advantage of this trend. This capital gives us additional resources to innovate rapidly, expand quickly and strategically into new markets, and deliver on our customer-centric vision around the world,” said Kiley.
Ellerston Capital Investment Director, David Leslie, who will be joining Intelledox’s Board of Directors, said the firm is excited to help Intelledox increase its international customer base and gain solidify its international footing.
“Intelledox has built a solution that solves a major problem for organisations, whether they are large and complex or small and focused, the platform accelerates speed to market and flexibility around business processes and customer interaction. We are excited to support such an incredible Australian business and their amazing team, during their high growth journey,” he said.

I decompose the variation of credit spreads for corporate bonds into changing expected returns and changing expectation of credit losses. Using a log-linearized pricing identity and a vector autoregression applied to micro-level data from 1973 to 2011, I find that expected returns contribute to the cross-sectional variance of credit spreads nearly as much as expected credit loss does. However, most of the time-series variation in credit spreads for the market portfolio corresponds to risk premiums.

Estimating risk premium and volatility persistence in Malaysian stock market
Elgilani Elshareif; Muhammed Kabir
International Journal of Accounting and Finance, Vol. 7, No. 1 (2017) pp. 1 – 10
External shocks induced volatility, and persistence of the volatility has been examined for the Malaysian stock market using a model where risk-return trade-off has been incorporated. In the current study, the stock market index has been disaggregated into four different sub-sectors which have provided an opportunity to compare and contrast the inter-sectoral variance in response to external shocks and persistence of the effects of these shocks. The sectoral breakdown provides a deeper insight into the dynamic adjustment mechanism which is invariably masked in studies that use the aggregate data. This paper also finds that the risk premium coefficient is positive and statistically significant and thus concludes that the Malaysian stock return is influenced by conditional variance. More precise estimation of volatility is a pre-requisite for designing policy measures to smooth out fluctuations in stock indices, and consequently encouraging investment not only in the stock market but also in the real economy has far reaching consequences. The results have significance also for portfolio managers and investors who are managing funds to optimise risk-adjusted returns.
