Rookie question – Johnson and Johnson fine in relation to share price

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

I’m reasonably new to stock trading and there’s a couple of things that isn’t making sense. I’m from Australia so we got the news about Johnson and Johnson having to pay a $110 million fine well before the market opened in the US. When I got this news, I thought for sure the share price would go down (I mean paying a fine with rumours that their product causes developments of ovarian cancer should tarnish a brand and sales for products I would think). Apparently not…

Since that news, the stock price has been climbing. Literally rocketing since the news!!

I DONT GET IT! Am I missing something really important here?
