Pakistan recorded a trade deficit of 334466 PKR Million in April of 2017. Balance of Trade in Pakistan averaged -31044.46 PKR Million from 1957 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 6457 PKR Million in June of 2003 and a record low of -336061 PKR Million in March of 2017. Pakistan has been running consistent trade deficit since 2003 mainly due to high imports of energy. Since 2012, China has emerged as Pakistan’s largest trading partner replacing the United States. In recent years, the biggest trade deficits were recorded with China, India, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Malaysia. Pakistan records trade surpluses with the United States, Afghanistan, Germany and United Kingdom.
