New reddit accounts have no default subreddits and force users to “popular” tab. This gives artificially inflated political subreddits easy access to new users. Control over content is increasing and dissenting opinions are decreasing.

In the past there was a default set of subscriptions. The new “Popular” tab has politically charged subreddits whose subscribers have been artificially increased. Other political subreddits have been silenced from “Popular” per Spez’s written post months ago. How do you feel about new users being pigeon holed into the new reddit home page?
