A Chicago-based mortgage servicer on Wednesday was ordered to pay up to $1.15 million to struggling borrowers it failed to inform about mortgage relief or began foreclosure proceedings against while they were seeking help to save their homes, the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced.
