A friend told me to get a few outside of what I have (tech) but I know nothing about that world.

I have a question, which are some of the best performing non-tech stocks?

How can I tell this? (other than performance on the market). I am versed on tech which is why I can get a good sense but I know nothing as detailed of other industries.

Any good rule of thumb to know if the company is considered tech? For example, to my eye, Tesla is tech but it deals in automobiles currently. Southwest Airlines might be travel but they do have an interesting intersection with tech in how they do business so does Victoria’s Secret.
