Isn’t it a little freaky how no matter what a politician says on the campaign trail, they ALWAYS end up bending at the knee for Saudi Arabia?

Both W. and Obama classified 28 pages of the 9/11 Commission Report — rumors suggest those pages place a smoking gun in the hands of the Saudi government. I think most of us know the kind of oppressive regime the Saudi Arabian people live under, and how they use their Dark Age religion to oppress women especially. They are also suspected of massacring innocent civilians in Yemen. And yet, the United States consistently treats them as an “ally,” while treating much more innocuous (and poorer) nations that we happen to disagree with on politics – like Cuba – as enemies.

I think of myself as a moderate person — I didn’t agree with everything President Trump said / did on the campaign trail, but one of the things I was glad about was that we finally had a President that would stand up to the Saudis. Not only did the President bow to the King, he curtsied, and signed an arms deal to provide weapons that the Saudis will no doubt use in that aforementioned conflict with Yemen.

Politicians change their minds all the time, but this is a shockingly stark change. In the past I myself have dismissed conspiracies involving Saudis infiltrating American politics at the highest level, in the backrooms of Washington. But time and again, Presidents bow to the Saudis.

What is up with that?
