The US Patent Office issued a Notice of Allowance in the Google (Szegedy) patent application 14/839,452 (previously published as US20160063359) on April 5. (The application dates back to August, 2014.) The approved claims relate to architectures in which outputs from two parallel convolution stages (e.g., a 1×1 and a 5×5) are concatenated as input for a next stage.
