401k – S&P500 fund/Bond questions

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

I want to invest in 80% stocks 20% bonds (I’m only about 30), but what kind of Vanguard bond would I want to invest in? My work 401k sucks – a large portion of the money that goes into it buys my company stocks and it blows….so I sell it and then transfer to my self-directed 401k account and buy Vanguard S&P500 fund. I also want to get some bonds so I’m semi diversified but don’t really know if one is better than another, or short term/long term? Also hope to invest in a Vanguard S&P500 dividend fund. Any pointers/advice, would be appreciated.
