Switzerland's retail sales climbed for the first time in three months in February, the Federal Statistical Office reported Monday.
Retail sales grew by real 0.6 percent year-on-year in February, in contrast to a 1.2 percent fall in January. Excluding fuel, retail sales edged up 0.1 percent versus January's 1.5 percent decline.
Retail sales of food, drinks and tobacco decreased by 1.5 percent, whereas non-food sales grew 1.4 percent.
Excluding service stations, the retail sector showed an increase in real turnover of 0.5 percent in February.
On a monthly basis, retail sales climbed 0.6 percent in February.
