Importance of company name for App Store

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Hey startups, I already have a S-corp for my consulting business. Think freelance activities, and name is “(mylastname) Creative, Inc”. I’ll soon have an iPhone app out, and wanted some advice on the importance of company names.

The app is for an fairly established online brand, but they never incorporated. Just sole proprietorship. I own half of this activity.

Would it be worth getting a DBA for my S-corp to have the established branded name on the app’s store page?

Or just roll the brand under the S-corp, and have “(mylastname) Creative, Inc” appear on the company field for iPhone app pages? And maybe some web presence to tell people my SCorp is associated with the app?

My experience, no one cares the company name when downloading an app. We’re an office app, so it’s not even a mass audience.

What’s your thoughts?
