Stocks are surging today as the results of the French presidential election have allowed investors to focus on earnings.
The S&P 500 has advanced 1% to 2,371.62 at 12:49 p.m. today, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has risen 209.77 points, or 1%, to 20,757.53. The Nasdaq Composite has gained 1.1% to 5,977.04.
